New Year's Resolutions

This time last year, I had just completed participating in my first group photography show (200 Yards) at Dirty Thieves. My photography had officially transformed from a hobby that helped me through a difficult time into something more tangible and "official".  I am thankful for the friends, both near and far, that have supported my photography and helped push me to follow my creative passion.

It's been quite a year and since then. I've participated in 2 additional 200 Yards group shows, presented at Open Show SF, been accepted as part of a national juried show in Maryland, attended National Geographic's Travel Photography workshop and had several photos featured in numerous local blogs. All while having fun, I must add.

Creating an official website is the last of my 2010 photography resolutions and was probably the most challenging as 1) I am a perfectionist, 2) I am not a technologist in any sense of the word (just got internet installed at home this year, yes, I know I'm about 10 years behind the times) and 3) I'd much rather be wandering around taking photographs than sitting at home in front of a computer. While there's still some tweaks and fine-tuning to do, I feel like it's time to officially launch it so I can start focusing on other things....

As far as those "other things", I have a lot of ideas for 2012 which I'll share shortly. There's a lot of change a'brewing and I feel the desire to expand my photography, involve others and get out of my comfort zone. I feel it's going to be a big year and I hope you can come along for the ride!

Thanks to each of you that have helped me through 2011. I am grateful for your support and hope the holidays have something special in store for you.

Happy Holidays and here's to big plans in the New Year...

Carrie
